Aim:       'To team build with a group coming together for the first time'

Solution: An action-packed and mentally challenging two day Management Training Scenario.  The teams were faced with the scenario of the world having been invaded by Aliens.  In order to win back control they embarked on a series of missions involving Quad Biking to look for clues, rescuing Earthlings from the top of a 60 ft structure, screaming to safety across zip wires and dealing with a smoking plane wreck.  Each task equates to winning back a country on a giant world map, but it soon it became clear that the teams were more interested in fighting each other than the Aliens!  The second day started with a decision making synergy task, followed by further complex team challenges. The event ended with teams reviewing the programme and discussing how they were going to transfer the learning back to working environment.

Aim:     'A motivational speaker and related activities to emphasise the message of an annual management meeting'

Solution: Following a talk by Bear Grylls, who became the youngest Briton to climb Everest less than two years after breaking his back, we set up a climbing tower inside the courtyard of Rookery Hall inShropshireand ran a series of climbs.  These began with easy routes and finished with brave volunteers climbing in full high altitude mountaineering gear.  Bear and another experienced climber were hanging off the wall throughout to 'help'.  Similarities were drawn between the experience, achievement and the focus of the meeting.

OC&C Strategy Consultants

Aim:  'To focus on Director level teamwork and develop improved team support'

Solution:  A 'Spy Plane Down' Scenario Day beginning with a short session on team dynamics in the beautiful grounds of Rowhill Grange.  From here the team were briefed on the emergency and given training in moving in off-road vehicles, navigation and mine awareness.  After a short drive in convoy, they had to react to the first of many challenges - an explosion under the lead vehicle.  Amongst clouds of red smoke and lots of shouting the team began bonding rapidly.  Late in the day they arrived back at the hotel having successfully rescued the crew ready for a drink, swim and relaxation before an after-dinner speaker brought out some of the lessons in team work and mutual support.
